Residential pools

Pools drawn around the house: usable space on a tight lot, finishes chosen for sun and salt air, layouts for swimming, entertaining and safety.

Chapter 01

Where home pools go wrong

The usual failures are quiet ones. A layout that ignores the house, so the pool sits beside the lanai like an afterthought. A shape that eats the whole yard on a tight Honolulu lot and leaves no room to sit down. Materials that fade in the sun or pit in salt air within a few seasons. Nobody thought about safety and entertaining until the first party.

A residential pool has to do three things in the same small space: be swum in, be looked at from the kitchen window, and be safe for the youngest person who will ever walk out of the door. Getting there is a design question long before it is a construction one.

Designed to the home, then built to last in the weather

Pacific AquaScapes designs a residential pool to align with the architecture of your home and to make the most of the space you actually have, without crowding the yard. Materials are chosen for sun exposure and coastal conditions, and the layout is built to support relaxing, entertaining and safety at once.

Underneath, the build is the part you do not see and the part that decides how long the pool lasts: structural reinforcement, high-quality finishes that resist wear and fading, reliable plumbing and circulation, and safe electrical and lighting work. The company has built pools across Oahu and Maui under License CT-10771, so the crew in your Kapolei or Honolulu yard has done this in the same salt air before.

Waterfalls, lighting and spas can be designed in from the start. Browse the full design-and-build process on the pool design and construction page, or see how finished pools read in the project gallery.

Chapter 03

After the pool is finished

A pool is a long relationship, and the same company that built yours has been maintaining pools since 1980. Weekly service for saltwater and chlorine pools is available from the Kapolei yard, and the store at 2254 Lauwiliwili St tests water for free every week on a Spin Lab Waterlink photometer, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

If you own a Maytronics robotic cleaner, the same store is a Maytronics dealer and repair centre, and it services Polaris pressure-side and suction-side cleaners too. Call (808) 682-1020 to talk through a new pool, or send the design team a few lines about your home.
