Hotel and resort pools that stay open

Hotels, resorts, gyms and shopping centres: health-standard water testing, routine service, seasonal openings, upgrades and emergency repairs.

Chapter 01

What a hotel pool cannot afford

A resort pool is judged by every guest who walks past it. Cloudy water, a smell off the deck, a pump that has stopped or a closed sign in a peak week reach the front desk before they reach a work order.

Hawaii makes the margin thin. Humid weather and heavy use mean algae, debris and the oil residue that comes off bodies and sunscreen build up faster than most property managers expect, and a failed health inspection closes the water for everyone.

Pacific AquaScapes has worked on Hawaii pools since 1980 and holds Licensed Specialty Contractor CT-10771. The commercial side of the company exists so that a hotel, apartment building or public facility never has to explain a closed pool.

How a commercial pool is run

It starts with a walkthrough of the pool or water feature to find its current condition and any open problems. A service plan follows, sized to the facility and how hard it is used, so the property is neither over-serviced nor left short.

Scheduled visits cover skimming, vacuuming, brushing and cleaning, chemical balancing of pH, chlorine and alkalinity, and filtration system checks. Advanced water-quality testing runs alongside, to health and safety standards, so the numbers are on record before an inspector asks for them.

When something fails, the same crew repairs equipment and infrastructure: motors, lights, heaters and control systems. They handle seasonal openings and closings, equipment upgrades and emergency repairs, and each visit ends with a report and recommendations that catch the next problem before it closes the water.

Decorative water features sit inside the same contract. Waterfalls, fountains and artistic water features get the same cleaning, chemistry and equipment attention as the pool beside them.

Chapter 03

Who they have done it for

The client list on their own pages reads like a map of Hawaii hospitality: Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Marriott, Outrigger, Disney Aulani Resort, Hyatt Regency, Westin, Sheraton, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton and Embassy Suites. Shopping centers, restaurants and commercial developers such as Howard Hughes Corporation sit on the same list.

They are also a dealer and installer for Bradford Aquatic Group and Aqua Creek Pool Lifts, so accessibility lifts and the equipment around a commercial pool come from the same contractor that services it.

Plus shopping centres and restaurants.

Pacific AquaScapes also designs and builds pools, lagoons and rockwork; see the project gallery. The full brand and client roster, with the Bradford and Aqua Creek dealer lines, is on the clients and products page.

Waterfalls and fountains on a property are covered in water features and rockwork, and a single pool that needs a fix rather than a contract is a pool repair job. To set up a facility walkthrough, tell them about the property.
